I recently watched a video of a man who donated money to drill a well for a village in Kenya, and also a dear SiStar, Sandra Walter, who financed another well in Africa. These may seem like simple things to do for us living in more developed countries, yet for those villages, they are HUGE, life-changing events.
I recently went to the top of Mount Shasta and gathered 6 gallons of water from a spring that it was safe to walk to without damaging the vegetation, and it was around a mile walking in and then back out with the water. Water weighs only around 8.3 pounds or 3.78 kilograms, so it was not much to carry, yet I had to stop several times to rest my arms carrying this little amount.
Now imagine you live somewhere where there is no close water, and you have to walk miles every day for every single drop of water that you use, that water might not be clean, nor is its source always dependable. It adds an entirely new depth to the phrase “chop wood, carry water”. And across the world that mostly means that women and children are the ones that carry that water for their families, as there is no choice.
Now imagine That it is possible to do something, to make a difference in people’s lives by helping to provide clean sustainable water by funding a well for an entire village.
To that end, inspired by the actions of others, I have created a fund with The Thirst Project, which builds wells all over the world. 100% of the donations they receive go to the development of clean water projects where they are most needed.
I will donate 11% of all proceeds that come to The Eden Template for all classes and sessions until the funds to drill a well for a village have been gathered, currently around $12,000 US.
Please join me in this endeavor if you are moved to do so. You can join and make a donation of any amount at https://my.thirstproject.org/team/532724
Bless you, and thank you for your participation in this project.
